Grade Calculator
Calculate your final course grade from weighted assignments and exams.
What is the Grade Calculator?
Most courses weight different components differently — homework might count for 10% of your grade, exams for 50%. This calculator combines each category's score and weight into one final percentage, instead of you averaging it by hand.
The formula
Final Grade = Σ (Category Score × Category Weight) ÷ Total Weight. Each row's score is multiplied by its weight, the results are summed, and divided by the total weight entered.
How to use it
- Add a row for each graded category in your syllabus (homework, quizzes, midterm, final, etc.).
- Enter your current score and that category's weight for each.
- Check that your weights add up to 100% — if a category's grade isn't posted yet, leave it out and the calculator will show your grade based on what's graded so far.
This calculator uses the weights and scores exactly as you enter them — always double check your syllabus for the official weighting, since some courses also apply rules like dropping a lowest quiz score that a simple weighted average doesn't account for.
