Electricity Bill Calculator
Calculate the running cost of an appliance from its wattage, usage and your electricity rate.
What is the Electricity Bill Calculator?
This tool calculates how much it costs to run a specific appliance, from its power rating, how many hours a day it's used, and your own electricity rate — useful for spotting which appliances actually drive up a utility bill.
The formula
Daily kWh = (Watts × Hours) ÷ 1000. Daily Cost = Daily kWh × Rate per kWh, scaled up to monthly (×30) and yearly (×365).
How to use it
- Find the appliance's wattage (printed on the appliance, its manual, or its power supply).
- Enter how many hours a day it's typically used.
- Enter your electricity rate per kWh from a recent bill — this tool doesn't fetch live utility rates, since they vary by provider, region and even time of day.
