What is the Text Sorter?
The Text Sorter arranges a list of lines — names, tags, file names, to-do items, anything — into alphabetical order, either A to Z or Z to A. It supports case-insensitive sorting so "apple" and "Apple" are treated the same, and it can remove exact duplicate lines while it sorts.
How to use it
- Paste your list into the box, one item per line.
- Pick A→Z or Z→A, and toggle the case-insensitive, trim and de-duplicate options as needed.
- Click Sort Text and copy the ordered list.
Sorting happens using standard alphabetical comparison, so numbers and symbols are ordered by their character codes, which is how spreadsheet software and most programming languages sort text by default. This tool is useful for alphabetizing a bibliography, cleaning up a spreadsheet column pasted as plain text, organizing a glossary, or tidying a list of keywords before pasting them elsewhere.
