QR Code Scanner
Decode a QR code from an uploaded image or your camera, right in your browser.
What is the QR Code Scanner?
This tool decodes QR codes — from an image file you upload, or live from your camera — and shows you the text, URL or data encoded inside. It's the natural complement to our QR Code Generator, for when you have a QR code and need to know what it contains rather than the other way around.
Two ways to scan
- Upload an image: pick a photo or screenshot containing a QR code, and it's decoded instantly.
- Use your camera: point your device's camera at a physical QR code for a live scan, useful when you don't have a saved image of it.
How it works
The scanner analyzes the image pixel data directly in your browser to locate and decode the QR code's finder patterns and data modules — no image or camera frame is ever sent anywhere. Camera access requires your explicit browser permission, and the camera stream is used only locally for scanning.
How to use it
- Choose "Upload Image" or "Use Camera."
- For an upload, pick a clear photo of the QR code; for camera mode, click "Start Camera" and grant permission when prompted, then hold the code steady in view.
- The decoded text or URL appears automatically the moment it's recognized — copy it with one click.
