What is the Pixelate Image tool?
This tool applies a mosaic/pixelation effect across an entire photo, replacing detail with visible square blocks — useful for a retro aesthetic, or as a quick way to obscure fine detail before sharing an image.
How to use it
- Choose an image from your device.
- Adjust the block size slider — larger blocks mean a stronger, chunkier pixelation effect.
- Click Download PNG to save the result.
The effect works by shrinking the image down to a tiny version and then scaling it back up without smoothing, which is what produces the sharp, blocky squares. Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API, so the image is never uploaded anywhere.
