Add Watermark to PDF
Stamp a text watermark onto every page of a PDF, with custom opacity, angle and color.
What is Add Watermark to PDF?
This tool stamps a text watermark — like "DRAFT," "CONFIDENTIAL," or a company name — onto every page of a PDF, with control over opacity, size, rotation angle and color, before you share or print the document.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF file; its page count appears automatically.
- Enter the watermark text and adjust font size, opacity, rotation angle and color.
- Choose whether the watermark appears once in the center of each page, or tiled repeatedly across it.
- Click Add Watermark, then Download Watermarked PDF.
A low opacity (around 15-30%) keeps the underlying document fully readable while still clearly marking its status, which is the most common use case for "DRAFT" or "SAMPLE" watermarks. A higher opacity and a tiled layout make the watermark harder to crop or clone out, which is better suited to deterring unauthorized copies of a sensitive document — though keep in mind a determined person can still remove or edit a text watermark from a PDF, so this is a visual deterrent and labeling tool, not a security or copy-protection measure. Everything runs locally using the pdf-lib library; your document is never uploaded anywhere.
