What is the Image Metadata Viewer?
Most photos taken with a phone or digital camera carry hidden EXIF metadata embedded in the file — camera make and model, the date and time the photo was taken, exposure settings, and sometimes GPS location. This tool reads and displays that metadata without altering or uploading the file.
How to use it
- Choose a photo from your device (JPEG files carry the most metadata).

This is useful for checking exactly what information a photo carries before sharing it publicly — EXIF data can include the precise GPS coordinates of where a photo was taken, which many people don't realize is embedded until they check. All parsing happens locally in your browser by reading the file's raw bytes directly; nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
